People leave managers, not their jobs
So says the old truism. In some cases people will leave because of a better offer or because they have a career plan. However, in most cases where people leave because they're unhappy it's because of a manager.

If you're running a leadership course ask the group to talk about a leader from a previous job who inspired them or showed good leadership. Sometimes there will be a good example, but often people struggle.

The question to the group then becomes; 'How do you want to be remembered?'
